Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has expressed his sincere thanks to the US leaders and people for their warm reception and hospitality during his July 6-10 visit at the invitation of President Barack Obama’s administration.

In a message of thanks to President Obama, the Party chief said he and his entourage are pleased with the fruitful outcomes of the official visit which came in coincidence with the 20^th anniversary of the normalisation of bilateral ties, saying that he is deeply impressed by the US country and people.

He said he is convinced that the deepening of the Viet Nam-US comprehensive partnership will push bilateral ties forward for the sake of each people and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in Asia-Pacific.

At the end of the message, the leader conveyed wish that the US, under the leadership of Barack Obama and his government, will continue thriving across the board and playing its increasingly active role in the region and the world.

May the friendship and comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the US further progress, he said.
