The US-Viet Nam cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping operations demonstrates the expansion of their cooperative ties from bilateral aspects to regional and global issues, said US Ambassador to Viet Nam Ted Osius.

The US ambassador made the remarks while talking with reporters on the sideline of a workshop on UN peacekeeping operations in Ha Noi on July 27.

He noted some peacekeeping-related activities where the US could assist Viet Nam such as sharing experience, training personnel, teaching the English language to Vietnamese peacekeeping forces, building peacekeeping centres and coordinating within the UN framework.

The diplomat appreciated Viet Nam’s collaboration and support to the US in searching for missing-in-action US soldiers in Viet Nam, and said his country is pleased to share information about missing Vietnamese people from the war.
