Review of Da Nang's performance over last 9 months
The Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the city’s performance over the past 9 months and to identify the key tasks for the remaining months of this year.
Preparations for the 21st Da Nang Party Congress for the 2015 - 2020 tenure, which will to take place in mid-October, were also discussed at the event.
Between January and September, many of the city’s economic development tasks are likely to have fulfilled between 75% and 85% of the year’s targets. The city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is expected to have risen by 8.18% compared with the same period last year to hit an estimated 35.8 trillion VND.

Over the past 9 months, the implementation of local key projects has been on schedule, and the local ‘Year for a Cultural and Civilised City’ programme has seen numerous positive results.
In addition, the city’s social welfare activities have been enhanced effectively, whilst local political security, social order and safety have been ensured.
The city’s tourism sector is on track to reach the year’s target of welcoming 4.3 million visitors.
Secretary Tho urged local relevant agencies to make every effort to successfully fulfil this year’s targets and tasks. In particular, the focus should be on ensuring the local budget collection, accelerating the implementation of local key projects, and completing the upgrade of rural areas in Hoa Vang District. Importance should also be attached to taking effective measures to control drug-related crime, illegal gambling and other social evils in the city.
