A press conference was recently held in Da Nang for the 21^st Congress of the municipal Party Committee (PC) for the 2015 - 2020 tenure, which will take place in the city between 14 and 17 October.

The Congress is expected to be attended by 350 official delegates and representatives from 47 centrally-run agencies and the local media.

Municipal PC Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri highlighted the theme of the Congress: building a strong and transparent Party organisation, upholding consensus amongst local residents, and mobilising all of the forces in order to develop Da Nang into a more prosperous, peaceful, civilised and modern city.  The theme is also set for the city’s goals for the 2015 - 2020 tenure.

Effective solutions to make the city a more peaceful place for both local residents and visitors will be discussed.  The focus will be on reducing the number of thefts, robberies, and workplace and traffic accidents, ensuring environmental sanitation, building a cultural and civilised urban lifestyle, creating a democratic and fair working environment, and effectively handling other local issues.

Also at the press conference, the city leaders vowed that even more favourable conditions would be created for reporters from media agencies to gather information about the Congress.  In particular, the Da Nang Newspaper and Da Nang Radio and Television have been chosen as the main media agencies to report about the upcoming important event.
