21st Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee ends

The 21st Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee (PC) for the 2015 - 2020 tenure concluded last Friday.

At the event, which was attended by 350 official delegates, 52 members were elected to the municipal PC’s Executive Committee for the 2015 - 2020 tenure.  Fifteen of them were voted to the PC’s Standing Board.  The Deputy Secretary of the municipal PC in its 20th tenure of the 2010 - 2015 term, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, was elected Secretary for the 2010 - 2015 term.  Mr Vo Cong Tri and Mr Huynh Duc Tho were re-elected Deputy Secretaries.

The municipal PC’s Executive Committee elected 11 of its members to the Inspection Commission, with Mrs Luong Nguyet Thu re-elected as Head of the Commission.

In addition, 17 official delegates and one other were selected to attend the 12th National Party Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.  

The newly-elected PC Secretary, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, took the opportunity to appeal for all local government employees, Party members and residents to continue their efforts to promote traditional solidarity and uphold the spirit of innovation in order to successfully fulfil the targets set by the Congress.

With regard to the city’s general goals towards 2020, the focus will be on building a strong and transparent Party organisation, maintaining political stability, and promoting democracy and upholding consensus amongst local authorities and residents.  Importance will be attached to making Da Nang one of the country’s largest cities, and an economic, cultural and social hub in the central region and highlands.  Heed will be paid to developing Da Nang into a more prosperous, peaceful, civilised and modern city.

During the 2015 - 2020 period, greater efforts will be made to promote the city’s economic development in a rapid and sustainable manner in combination with local economic restructuring and transforming its growth model.  Special attention will also be paid to developing the city’s infrastructure, accelerating its administrative reforms, issuing more incentive policies to attract more domestic and foreign investors, and improving the living standards of local residents.
