Foreign Ministry: Vietnamese's legitimate rights in Cambodia ensured
Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Le Hai Binh has called on Cambodia’s administration and functional agencies to provide support for Vietnamese nationals living in the country and ensure their legitimate rights and interests.
He made the call at a regular press briefing in Ha Noi on October 8 in response to reporters’ queries about Viet Nam’s citizen protection following Cambodia’s plan to relocate Vietnamese in Tonle Sap (Great Lake), which worried several poor households about their long-term housing.

Upon hearing the news, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia has been working closely with relevant Cambodian authorities to assist the Vietnamese community living in the area, Binh added.
“In the spirit of the traditional friendship and neighbourliness between the two countries, we hopes that the Cambodian administration and functional agencies would take care and make it easier for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia to lead their lives and do business in a stable manner with secure legitimate rights and interests,” he concluded.
