Mexican city keen on boosting ties with Vietnamese localities

The Mexican city of Toluca, capital of the State of Mexico, wishes to expand cooperation with Viet Nam and set up twinning relationship with Da Nang, according to the city’s Mayor Braulio Alvarez Jasso.

The mayor made the statement during a recent reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Linh Lan, who came to the city to promote linkage between the two countries’ localities.

He stressed that the two countries share similar goals on socio-economic growth and culture, which are bases to set up multifaceted cooperation in various fields between them.

For her part, Ambassador Lan expressed her hope that Viet Nam and Mexico will hold meaningful activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, one of which can be the establishment of twining relation between Toluca and Da Nang.

Toluca, with a population of over 1.5 million people, is the most important hub for industry, service and tourism of the State of Mexico, one of the most developed Mexican states.
