On 13 November, as part of their working visit to Italy, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, paid a visit to Venice in the Veneto region.  They were warmly received by the Secretary of the Communist Party of the Veneto region, Mr Fabio De Cassan, and the President of the Veneto region chapter of the Italy-Viet Nam Friendship Association, Mr Renato Darsie.

During the reception for his Vietnamese guests, Secretary Fabio De Cassan highlighted the important role of the Italian Communist Party and its performance in protecting the rights of Italian citizens and its proletarian class.

The Italian Secretary highly praised Da Nang for its remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and global integration over recent years.  He said that his region is willing to boost bilateral relations with Da Nang in order to fully tap the great potentials and strengths of the two localities.

Deputy Secretary Tri said that he would like the chapter of the Italy-Viet Nam Friendship Association to do its utmost to appeal for more Italian businesses to invest in Da Nang in various aspects.  Included are trade, tourism, fashion, training, green technology and applications of high technology in processing and storing food.

Also on the same day, the Da Nang guests met with representatives from Oltrex, the biggest travel and events organising company in the Veneto region.

Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung took the opportunity to ask Oltrex to conduct research into organising a wide range of fashion, cultural and fine arts events in his city.  He said that the purpose was to introduce leading Italian brand names to Da Nang’s residents, and attract more Italian visitors to the city in the future.
