Published: November 13, 2015

The Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, Mr Kover Laszlo, is visiting Viet Nam from 8 - 13 November.  The purpose is to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Hungary (1950 - 2015).  On Thursday, he paid a courtesy visit to newly-elected Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh.

The Hungarian high-ranking official said that his country and Da Nang share many similarities as they both focus on training high-quality human resources, enhancing urban management, and developing the education and healthcare sectors.  Mr Laszlo said he hoped that the bilateral cooperative ties with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, will be further deepened through the implementation of their effective and sustainable cooperation projects in the years ahead.

Secretary Anh remarked that top priority will continue to be given to promoting the development of tourism services, trade and the hi-tech industry.  He said that he would like the Hungarian National Assembly to continue creating favourable conditions for local school pupils and university students to study in their country.  He also took the opportunity to ask the Hungarian Assembly to allow Da Nang access to official development assistance (ODA) capital from its country for aspects which the city is focusing investment into, especially the education and healthcare sectors.
