Swedish mayor applauds bilateral cooperation
During his meeting on Wednesday with Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, the Mayor of Boras City in Sweden, Mr Ulf Olsson, said that he was very impressed by the city’s rapid and dynamic growth over recent years. He expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral cooperation between Boras City and Da Nang, as well as between Sweden and Viet Nam as a whole.
He said he hoped that his city and Da Nang would boost their bilateral cooperation in various aspects, including the environment, education, and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Green City projects.

Chairman Tho said that his city wanted to learn from Boras City’s experiences in ensuring sustainable urban development. He noted that emphasis will be placed on planting more green trees across the city, building solid waste treatment systems, and appealing for more investment in the local hi-tech and tourism sectors.
The Da Nang leader vowed that the local authorities would create the most favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Sweden, to learn about the city’s investment climate.
In particular, international bids are expected to be sought by Da Nang in the 1st quarter of 2016 to purchase 80 BRT buses funded by the World Bank. Chairman Tho remarked that his city is willing to invite Sweden's Volvo Car Corporation to bid for this project.
