The 15^th session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 8^th tenure for the 2011 - 2016 term opened today at the meeting hall of the People’s Council, 42 Bach Dang.

The session, which will run until 10 December, is being broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television (DRT) channels.

This morning, the session reviewed the city’s socio-economic performance and its security and defence during this year, as well as identified the main tasks for the year ahead.

In particular, participants heard reports from the local People’s Court, the People's Procuracy, and the boards of Economics and Budget, Cultural and Social Issues and Legislation.

There were also reports released by the municipal People’s Committee about the city’s budget estimates for this year and the measures to use the budget effectively next year.  In addition, regulations about the collection of fees and other related charges across the city, and the naming or renaming of some local streets in 2016, were discussed.

This afternoon, the People’s Council members were divided into different groups to discuss the reports mentioned above.
