City leaders extend congratulations on Lao National Day

On Tuesday, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by the municipal Party Committee Secretary, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, visited the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang and extended their greetings to its staff on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (2 December).

Secretary Anh took the opportunity to express his deep gratitude to the late President Kaysone Phomvihane who was known as an excellent leader, a steadfast revolutionary soldier and an outstanding son of Lao people, as well as a faithful friend of Vietnamese people.  He highly praised the late President for his great efforts in boosting the bilateral traditional friendship and special solidarity with Viet Nam.

The city leader hoped that the bilateral traditional ties between Da Nang and Lao localities, as well as Viet Nam and Laos as a whole, would be deepened in the years ahead.  He also wished that the Lao government and people would continue gaining more remarkable achievements in their ongoing national protection and building process.

In reply, Consul General Phommaseng Khamsene thanked the city leaders for their wishes.  In addition, the Lao diplomat expressed his special thanks to the Vietnamese people for their valuable assistance to Laos over the past 4 decades.  He believed that under the leadership of the local young leaders, Da Nang would continue recording more significant achievements in the coming time.  Mr Phommaseng Khamsene also hoped that the traditional relationships between Da Nang and Lao localities would be further strengthened.
