On Thursday, the Da Nang Border Guard and the municipal Police Department entered into a cooperation agreement to effectively implement the ‘All People Protect National Security’ and ‘All People Participate in Defending National Territorial Sovereignty and Border Security’ movements in local sea border areas.

Under the agreement, the focus will be on encouraging residents from the 17 local seaside wards to obey the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State and the city concerning promoting the city’s socio-economic development in combination with ensuring local security and defence.

The local border guard and police forces will also offer suggestions to the city authorities about how to effectively implement the movements in the current context of rapid and complicated developments in world geo-political situations.

Importance will be also attached to ensuring border security and social order through the implementation of effective self-governing models.  Included are ‘The General Public Safeguard Bordering Waters’, ‘Vietnamese Fishermen to Head out to Sea together in Groups’, ‘No Criminals or Social Evils in Residential Areas’, and ‘Cultural Lifestyle in Seaside Residential Areas’.

In addition, local individuals and groups will be honoured and rewarded for their active involvement in these models mentioned above, which will in turn help to promote the movements.
