Colonel Hiroyuki thanked the local authorities and armed forces for facilitating his officers and crew members to participate in cultural and sporting exchange activities, and share their experience in defence and security with Vietnamese colleagues, during their stay in the city. He hoped that the bilateral cooperation relations with Viet Nam would be further strengthened in various aspects, including defence and security. The Colonel also expressed his desire that the friendship between the naval forces of the 2 countries would be deepened to ensure maritime security and safety at sea.
In reply, Vice Chairman Minh expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the numerous cooperative programmes with some of Japan’s localities. He remarked that numerous bilateral industrial, cultural and tourism cooperation projects with Japan would be implemented in the city soon. Included are the 1.2ha Viet Nam-Japan friendship cultural park in Ngu Hanh Son District, a specialised industrial park for Japanese businesses, and a Japanese-standard hi-end holiday resort for the elderly.
The city’s leader said he would like the guest and crew members to advertise the image of the city and people to Japanese citizens, as well as appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in the city.
