The city leader said he would like the Japanese government to continue putting money into the city’s priority aspects such as information technology, hi-tech and services. He added that some other local projects are in need of ODA capital from the Japanese government. Included are the Hoa Lien Commune water supply plant, a solid waste and waste water treatment system, a hazardous-waste incineration plant, the Lien Chieu Port, the relocation of the city’s railway station, and the upgrade of some key highways.
In reply, Ambassador Fukada said, “Many Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises are fostering investment promotion and technology transfer activities in Viet Nam. I, therefore, hope that the municipal authorities will facilitate them to invest and operate effectively in the city”.
The guest remarked that importance was being attached to cooperating with the Da Nang authorities to enhance security in the East Sea in order to ensure security and stability in the region.
