Deputy Secretary Tri spoke highly of the active support given by the Japanese government to help the city authorities successfully organise the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Festival 2016 in Da Nang last month.
Mr Tri hoped that the universities of Da Nang and Nagasaki, as well as Da Nang and Nagasaki Prefecture as a whole, would organise more exchange activities in the years ahead to foster mutual understanding and cooperative ties.
In reply, President Ohta briefed his host on Nagasaki University and its high-quality human resource training programmes which aim to attract more international students to study in Japan. This will help the country deal with its present severe shortage of employees.
The Japanese guest also expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the numerous bilateral cooperative programmes with Da Nang over recent years. He expressed his belief that the number of exchange activities between the universities of the two localities would be increased in the future to meet their increasing development demands.
