On Tuesday, an inspection team led by Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Chairwoman Dang Thi Kim Lien checked the implementation of democratic regulations at Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward.

The team reported that, over recent years, the democratic principles have been implemented effectively in the ward.  The focus has been on widely publicising the ward’s annual socio-economic targets, tax collection and budget spending, the deployment of public construction and lighting projects, and the building of community houses, concrete roads and drainage systems.  Also, the ward’s authorities have facilitated local residents to give their opinions, and to enhance their supervision over local urban planning, and the implementation of domestic and FDI projects, as well as the use of local funds.

However, the publicity of the guidelines and policies of the Party, State and the city amongst the general public have yet to be implemented effectively.

Chairwoman Lien spoke highly of the performance of the ward’s Steering Board for implementing democratic regulations.  She also stressed the need for the ward’s People’s Inspection Board to uphold its important role in monitoring the deployment of development projects and programmes in the ward in the years ahead.
