Visiting Japanese delegation aiming to expand cooperation
During his meeting on Thursday with representatives from the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance in Japan’s Osaka Prefecture, Da Nang People’s Council Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung affirmed that the local authorities are willing to roll out the red carpet for foreign businesses, especially those from Japan, to invest and operate in the city.

The city leader said Da Nang has already established cooperative relationships with 7 Japanese localities and set up 3 representative offices in the country. His city is planning to establish even more cooperative relationships with another 8 Japanese localities.
So far, 128 Japanese businesses and representative offices are operating in the city, with their investments totalling over 476 million USD. Together they have created 40,000 jobs for local residents.
Chairman of the Alliance, Mr Tesunosuke Nakamura, remarked that Osaka boasts environmentally-friendly techonologies. He added that one business from his city is treating wastewater on a trial basis at the city’s Tho Quang Seafood Services Industrial Park. He promised that he would do his utmost to appeal for more businesses from his city to invest in Da Nang.
On the same day, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh hosted a reception for the Alliance’s group.

On behalf of the group, Chairman Nakamura said that the purpose of his group’s visit is to learn about the city’s incentive policies for foreign investors and the performance of Japanese businesses already operating in the city in order to expand the bilateral cooperative relationship with Da Nang in the years ahead.
Vice Chairman Minh said that numerous bilateral industrial, cultural and tourism cooperation projects with Japan would be implemented in the city soon. Included are the 1.2ha Viet Nam-Japan friendship cultural park in Ngu Hanh Son District, a specialised industrial park for Japanese businesses, and a Japanese-standard hi-end holiday resort for the elderly.
He said he would like Japanese businesses to invest in the city’s clean water, wastewater treatment and environmental landscape improvement projects. He also hoped that the bilateral cooperative relationship with Japan will be lifted to new heights in the near future.
