On Tuesday, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, along with other representatives from the city’s authorities, met with voters in the wards of An Hai Tay, Man Thai, An Hai Bac and Nai Hien Dong, all in Son Tra District, to hear about local issues of most concern to them.

The voters raised their concerns about the current shortage of lighting in some local public areas, the illegal construction of buildings which are higher than the permitted limit on 5.5m-wide streets, and the illegal parking of vehicles on the pavements of some local streets which are home to many restaurants, hotels, karaoke bars and massage parlours.

Voters also complained about the environmental pollution problem at delayed projects locally, and about paper mills illegally discharging effluent into the nearby environment.

They also proposed that the city authorities should impose a ban on spontaneous vehicle parking areas along Tran Hung Dao Street in order to allow more space for local residents and visitors to take leisurely strolls and comfortably enjoy the beauty of the Han River.

In particular, the voters stressed the need for the city authorities to combat corruption amongst local government officials and employees, and to avoid the matter of local relevant agencies blaming each other in dealing with some local issues of high concern raised by local residents.

Deputy Secretary Tri answered all the questions raised by the local voters.  As for local Party building work, importance will be attached to finding more local government employee Party members who have good ethics and qualifications to fulfil their assigned political tasks in the current context of rapid and complicated developments in world geo-politics.
