Addressing the event, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that the upgrade of the school into an exemplary school of the Da Nang-Salavan friendship relationship is vivid evidence of the long-lasting bilateral solidarity, friendship and cooperation with Salavan Province.

To mark the event, the city leader donated 5 computers to the school.

Funded by Da Nang City, the construction of the 2nd phase of the school cost 7.2 billion VND.  The school features a 2-storey building with 4 classrooms.  The construction of the school’s 1st phase was also funded from the city budget, and it was put into use in 2012.

During his visit on the same day to the Vietnamese People’s Association Primary School in Salavan Province, Secretary Anh encouraged Vietnamese expats to continue enhancing mutual assistance, preserve Viet Nam’s culture, and abide by the laws of Laos.

To mark the occasion, the city leader gave the school 2 computers and 20 million VND from the city budget.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Da Nang leaders paid a visit to the Vietnamese Language Centre in Savannakhet Province.

Funded by Da Nang, the centre was officially opened in 2004.  To date, it has granted Vietnamese language certificates to 1,081 trainees who were government employees from the province’s departments and agencies.  The centre plans to teach the Vietnamese language to provincial pupils.

On this occasion, the city leaders donated 30 computers to the centre, in total worth 360 million VND.
