Vice Chairman Minh remarked, “In addition to the healthcare and education sectors, Da Nang is focusing on promoting the development of such spearhead economic sectors as tourism, information technology and hi-tech.  Special attention is being paid to widely publicising the national anti-corruption law amongst local residents, and issuing more open and transparent policies for local businesses and citizens”.

The city leader expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the numerous bilateral cooperative programmes with Russia over recent years.  He said that the city established a cooperative relationship with Russia’s Yaroslavl Province in 1999.  So far, Da Nang and Yaroslavl have signed many bilateral agreements in various aspects.

Mr Minh noted that Da Nang has so far attracted 2 Russian-funded projects worth 304,117 USD in total.  Exports from Da Nang to Russia hit around 1.6 million USD between January and June, whilst imports reached 250,000 USD.  He said he would like the Russian government to boost its exchange of experiences with Da Nang in the near future, especially those regarding corruption inspection and prevention.

In reply, Deputy Director Alexander highly praised the city for its great efforts and effective measures in anti-corruption.  He pledged that his Anti-Corruption Agency would continue fostering the bilateral relationship with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, in various aspects, including anti-corruption activities.
