Boosting bilateral cooperation with Italy
On Tuesday, during his reception for the Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ms Cecilia Piccioni, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh spoke highly of the fruitful results from the bilateral tourism cooperation between Da Nang and some Italian localities and organisations over recent years. He said that these positive results have helped to open up other opportunities for cooperation in education, tourism, design and culture.

Secretary Anh asked Ms Cecilia Piccioni to do her utmost to boost her country’s investment and trade cooperation with Da Nang. He remarked that the focus should be on the city's priority aspects of tourism, services, hi-tech industries, IT, and design.
Ms Cecilia Piccioni said that Da Nang has been selected as one of Viet Nam’s priority localities and will therefore benefit from a cooperation programme, developed by the Italian Embassy in Viet Nam, in the near future.
She remarked that the opening of a new visa application centre in Da Nang yesterday afternoon was evidence of the city’s fruitful cooperation with her embassy in Viet Nam. The new centre allows Vietnamese citizens of the central region to submit their visa applications for Italy, the UK, and Australia more locally instead of having to travel to either Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh City.
