City leaders meet with high-ranking military retirees

On Wednesday, some of Da Nang’s leaders met with retired general officers and former leaders of the city’s Military Command who still live in the city.   The city leaders in attendance were municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, and People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho.

The meeting was in recognition of the 72nd  anniversary of the founding of the Viet Nam People’s Army and the 27th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defence Festival Day (22 December). 

Addressing the event, Secretary Anh briefed the retirees on the positive results from the city’s socio-economic progress, as well as local defence and security during this year.   He also highly applauded the retirees for their great devotion to the city’s construction and development over recent years. 

Secretary Anh remarked that the city authorities will focus on fulfilling next year’s key tasks to bolster local socio-economic development in a rapid and sustainable manner, as well as to guarantee local defence and security.

The city leader also expressed his belief that the military retirees would continue to make every effort for the city’s growth in the years ahead in a bid to make Da Nang an even more prosperous and peaceful city.
