In his note in the condolences book, Secretary Anh expressed his deepest sympathy to the leaders and people of Cuba, and to Mr Castro’s family.  He also said that his passing was a tremendous loss to his country, to Viet Nam, and to peace-loving and progressive people all over the world.

Secretary Anh remarked that Mr Castro was a historical symbol, and he was devoted to the revolutionary and communist movements in Cuba and other countries worldwide.  In particular, the late Cuban revolutionary leader was a close comrade and brother of the Vietnamese people and its leaders.

The city leader also vowed that people in Da Nang, and in Viet Nam as a whole, would always remember Mr Castro’s famous words, “For Viet Nam, the Cuban people are always willing to devote even their blood”, and the unforgettable memories of this legendary leader would remain deep in their minds.  He added that although Mr Castro has now passed away, the bilateral fraternal friendship and consistent solidarity between Cuba and Viet Nam, and with Da Nang in particular, would be strengthened in the years ahead.

Secretary Anh expressed his hope that, with the undaunted courage and indomitable spirit of the Cuban people, the Communist Party of Cuba will continue to lead the country to overcome its difficulties and challenges, and make Cuba more prosperous in the future to satisfy Mr Castro’s burning desire.
