Speaking at a meeting on Tuesday to launch the 'City of 4 Safe Programmes' campaign in 2017, municipal Party Committee (PaC) Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri raised his concerns about the increasing sophistication and complexity of crimes.  This, he noted, leaves local residents feeling insecure and negatively affects the city’s investment environment.  He added that 2016 saw a high number of deaths and injuries caused by traffic accidents in the city, and the number of poor, unemployed, and social insurance debtors is still too high.

Deputy Secretary Tri noted that from now until 2020 top priority will be given to implementing this campaign with a focus on ensuring security, traffic safety, food safety and hygiene, and social welfare for local residents.

In his closing speech at the meeting, municipal PaC Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh urged local government departments and agencies, plus district-level authorities, to publicise these programmes widely amongst their Party members, employees and residents during January 2017.  This publicity should take place in the city’s wards and communes before Lunar New Year 2017.

The DA NANG Newspaper and Da Nang Radio and Television will widely publicise the campaign amongst local residents, and encourage them to become actively involved.

Also at the event, the Chairmen of district-level People’s Committees signed an emulation agreement on the 4 Safe programmes.  Under the agreement, each of the districts will select one or 2 wards and communes in which they will implement the programmes.
