On Thursday, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho played host to the General Director of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Yokohama City, Mr Makoto Sekiyama.

Chairman Tho remarked, “Over recent years, Da Nang has effectively implemented the bilateral cooperative agreement with Yokohama City.  As a result, our cooperation has seen numerous positive results.”

The host took the opportunity to thank the Yokohama authorities and JICA for actively assisting the city, as well as for sharing with Da Nang their valuable experiences about developing Yokohama into a civilised and modern port city. 

He hoped that the Japanese government would continue providing ODA capital for the city to build the Hoa Lien Commune water supply plant and the Lien Chieu Port.  He asked General Director Sekiyama to do his utmost to appeal for even more Japanese businesses to invest into the city in the years ahead.

In reply, the Japanese visitor affirmed that his city would continue boosting its bilateral cooperation with Da Nang in various aspects in the coming time.
