Promoting bilateral education and start-up business cooperation with Canada
On Monday, during his reception for Canadian Ambassador to Viet Nam Ping Kitnikone, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh remarked, “In the 2 decades since Da Nang's recognition as a centrally-governed city on 1 January 1997, the city has continued its dynamic development and created ever more breakthroughs. This has helped the city to secure its position as the leading socio-economic hub in the central region, and has promoted the country’s progress”.

Secretary Anh asked Ms Ping Kitnikone to do her utmost to boost bilateral investment cooperation with Canadian localities. He remarked that the focus should be on promoting those aspects in which the two sides have their greatest potential and strengths, which would include education, tourism, and hi-tech industries.
He said that Da Nang is willing to establish a friendly relationship with a Canadian locality, and to work closely with it to ensure the best preparations for welcoming the Canadian delegates who will participate in the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the city next November.
In reply, Ambassador Kitnikone remarked “Da Nang and some Canadian localities share many similarities. In the near future, top priority should be given to promoting bilateral educational exchanges and start-up business activities to boost the efficiency of their relationship with Da Nang, and with Viet Nam as a whole.
