Deputy Minister Wunsch said that his State has great strengths in chemicals, machinery manufacturing, auto support, and renewable energy industries.  He expressed his belief that Sachsen businesses would seek investment opportunities in Da Nang, and the bilateral cooperative relationship with Da Nang would be strengthened in the years ahead.

As for his part, Vice Chairman Minh briefed his guests on the city’s further development strategies.  The focus will be on boosting start-up activities and promoting the development of high-quality tourism services, plus hi-tech and environmentally-friendly industries.

He remarked that top priority will be given to enhancing the business and investment environment to attract more visitors to the city, as well as creating very favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Germany, to operate effectively in the city.

To date, Da Nang has attracted 3 German-invested projects in hospitality, tourism service consultancy, and information technology.  It has been implementing a project, funded by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), to develop Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city.

In addition, the German ESS GmbH Company is investing in an environmentally-friendly wastewater treatment system at the city’s Khanh Son Waste Dump.  Many German non-governmental organisations have been actively involved in offering community healthcare services and support activities for local poor women.
