The host and his guests discussed the bilateral cooperative activities between JVEF and Da Nang.  In particular, JVEF will assist Da Nang in appealing for strategic investors from Japan to invest in the city’s industrial parks, with a focus on the Hi-tech Park.

In addition, JVEF will help the city develop its infrastructure, and organise some conferences on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in November.  JVEF will also sign an agreement on investment attraction with the authorities of the city’s Industrial and Export Processing Zones.

Once the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given its approval, JVEF and the Da Nang People’s Committee will enter into a cooperative agreement based on the aspects discussed.  JVEF will also work closely with Japanese corporations to promote investment opportunities in Da Nang.

Also on the same day, Vice Chairman Minh warmly received a group of visitors from Japan’s Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), led by its Chairperson Tamotsu Okamoto.

Chairperson Okamoto said that this was the first time that he had visited Da Nang and he thanked the city leader for his warm welcome.  He also expressed his delight at the sustainable development of the city over recent years.  He hoped that the investment cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese businesses would be strengthened in the future.

In reply, Vice Chairman Minh remarked, “In the years ahead, Da Nang will focus on promoting the development of high quality tourism and trade, hi-tech and environmentally friendly industries, and start-up activities.  The city is making every effort to enhance its investment environment to attract even more foreign investors”.

He asked Chairperson Okamoto, and CLAIR as a whole, to appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in the city.
