City leaders extend Tet greetings on Lunar New Year's Eve

On Friday evening, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Anh visited and extended Tet wishes to the staff of the Public Security Division of the municipal Police Department.  He was accompanied by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and the Department’s Director, Colonel Le Van Tam.

Secretary Anh urged the Division’s police officers to do their utmost to ensure local security with a focus on  effectively implementing the ‘City of 4 Safe Programmes’ campaign, and ensuring the success of the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders’ Week in November.

During his meetings with local traffic and rapid response police forces on duty near the construction site of the road tunnel to take Tran Phu under the busy junction with Le Duan, Secretary Anh encouraged them to fulfill their assigned tasks well to ensure safe and peaceful Tet for locals and visitors.

Secretary Anh also extended Tet wishes to employees from the city’s Urban Environment Company who were on duty at a spring flower market in front of the 2 September Peace Monument.  He highly applauded them for enthusiastically cleaning up the area.

Also on the same day, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri visited and extended Tet greetings to the staff of the city’s Power Company.

Deputy Secretary Tri underlined the need for the company to ensure sufficient and stable electricity supplies to the general public during Tet, and deal with any unexpected power failures in a timely fashion.

During his visit to the city’s General Hospital, Deputy Secretary Tri hoped that the hospital’s medical staff would exert every effort to enhance the quality of its health care services, and uphold their sense of responsibility and devotion to their patients.

Greater efforts should be made to continue treating patients during the ongoing festival.

Also on Friday evening, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho expressed his best wishes for the SOS Children’s Village in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward, the city’s care centre for those who gave great service to the national revolution, and the Da Nang Radio Station (DRT).

In particular, Chairman Tho also visited a night-time mobile patrol team which are in charge of ensuring security in Hai Chau 1 Ward.  He offered incense at the ward’s village communal house, and joined with the team and local citizens here to enjoy Lunar New Year's Eve celebrations.

In a similar vein, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan visited sanitation workers from the Cam Le and Ngu Hanh Son districts’ urban environment units, which are under the management of the city’s Urban Environment Company.  He wished all of them good health, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead.

Vice Chairman Tuan remarked that the city’s leaders and locals always highly appreciated the great efforts made by the local sanitation workers in ensuring the clean environment.
