City leaders extend Tet wishes to social policy beneficiaries
With only 8 days to go to Tet, some of the Da Nang leaders paid pre-Tet visits to local social policy beneficiaries on Wednesday.

Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri visited 2 over 100-year-old Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Thanh Khe District. They were Pham Thi Doa from Chinh Gian Ward and Le Thi Tai from Vinh Trung Ward.
Deputy Secretary Tri wished them good health and a happy life. He hoped that they would encourage their descendants to uphold the traditional patriotism and make even greater efforts for the progress of the district, and that of the city as a whole.
The city leader also urged the district’s authorities to promote the national traditions of ‘when drinking water, think of its source’, and to carry out meaningful social welfare activities in a bid to implement the ‘City of 4 Safe Programmes’ campaign this year, and in the following years.

During visits to other social policy beneficiaries, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh extended his Tet greetings to 90-year-old Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Dan from Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, and Mr Ho Ngoc Mai, who is a war-wounded and retired military officer from Hoa Khanh Bac Ward.
Vice Chairman Minh highly praised them for giving great service in the national revolution, and wished them a happy and warm Tet.
Vice Chairman Minh also extended Tet wishes to local residents living in terraced houses in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward. These people once lived in the Van fishing village, also known as ‘Hansen’s Oasis’.
Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung visited and presented Tet gifts to the staff of the city’s care centre for mentally-ill people, which is under the management of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
He spoke highly of the remarkable achievements made by the centre over the past year, and believed that its staff would continue with their efforts to ensure better care for these disadvantaged people.
