On Wednesday morning, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, offered incense and laid wreaths at the 2 September Peace Monument and the Go Cao Martyrs’ Cemetery in Hoa Vang District in recognition of the forthcoming Tet Festival.  The wreaths carried the words “Eternal Gratitude to the Heroic Martyrs”.

The participants observed a minute’s silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification, the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and those who gave great service to the national revolution.

In front of the hallowed memorial to the heroic martyrs, the leaders vowed that the local authorities, the city-based armed forces, and the citizens of Da Nang will continue to uphold their consensus and solidarity, and do their utmost to make Da Nang even more civilised and prosperous in the years ahead.
