Vice Chairman Minh highlighted the generous donations of medical facilities and equipment to the city’s Cancer Hospital by many Australian organisations. Also, that many of local graduates from Australian universities have made great efforts towards the city’s progress.
The host hoped that Consul General Lanyon would continue to do her utmost to foster the bilateral cooperative relationships with Da Nang in such aspects as trade, education and tourism in the years ahead.
In reply, Ms Lanyon said that she was deeply impressed by the city’s rapid growth, and noted that Da Nang is one of the most favourable and attractive investment environments in Viet Nam.
The Australian diplomat commented, “The APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017 (AELW), which will take place in Da Nang in November, will be a great opportunity for the city to show its great potential for attracting more investment and develop its tourism sector. In the near future, my Consulate General will have discussions with the city authorities about ensuring the success of the AELW.”
Vice Chairman Minh noted that the current focus was on upgrading facilities and urban infrastructure, training human resources in the city, and ensuring safety and medical preparedness for the forthcoming AELW. He also pledged that the local authorities would create very favourable conditions for APEC member nations, including Australia, to jointly organise the event successfully.
