Secretary Anh took the opportunity to thank the New Zealand government for inviting him to visit the country later this year.  He noted that the local authorities will be cooperating with the New Zealand Embassy to receive and serve their high-ranking officials who will attend the AELW in the city in November.

In reply, Ms Matthews thanked the city leader for his warm welcome.  She vowed that she would do her utmost to foster the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang in various aspects during her tenure in Viet Nam.

In another meeting, the New Zealand Ambassador met with municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and affirmed that her country would make every effort to help Da Nang ensure the success of AELW.

Chairman Tho briefed his guest on the city’s potential and strengths in tourism service, hi-tech and information technology aspects.  He pledged that the city will share its experiences of organising APEC 2017 with New Zealand who will host APEC 2021.
