Mr Dung spoke highly of the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with Adelaide University over recent years. He remarked, “Your university has given a helping hand to Da Nang to develop its hi-quality human resources. Under the city's High Quality Human Resources Development project, over 600 people have been sent abroad to attend graduate and post-graduate courses, 170 of whom are studying in Australia, including 15 at the Adelaide University. Their majors are in such aspects as biotechnology, medical-surgery, environmental policy and management, and IT”.
Vice Chairman Dung asked whether Adelaide University could send more experts to his city to exchange their experiences in the fields in which the university boasts great potential and strengths.
He noted that Da Nang now has a business incubator centre, and many similar models have been set up at local universities to promote start-up activities amongst students. He, therefore, highlighted the significance of creating more connectivity and links with the worldwide business start-up network.
In reply, Adelaide University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Noel Lindsay said that overseas Vietnamese students usually gain good academic results and many of them have carried out excellent research. He pledged that his university would introduce Da Nang to more Australian businesses and educational experts to promote the city’s start-up activities.
