Chairman Tho said he would like Ms Moran to make every effort to enhance the bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and some Irish localities and businesses in the years ahead. He also underlined that his city will always create open mechanisms for attracting more domestic and foreign investors into the city.
In reply, the Irish Ambassador vowed that she would act as a bridge for deepening the bilateral relationship between Ireland and Da Nang in all aspects in future years.
To mark the occasion, Chairman Tho and Ambassador Moran jointly entered into a cooperation agreement between the municipal PC and the Embassy of Ireland in Viet Nam.
Under the agreement, the Irish Embassy will every year grant scholarships for 2 local students to study for Masters degrees in Ireland.
Importance will also be attached to jointly seeking cooperation opportunities in enhancing the qualifications of local public servants and promoting local business start-up activities.
Special heed will also be paid to implementing small-scale social development programmes, with a focus on giving more assistance to the disabled and especially providing early detection and intervention for children with disabilities in the city.
