On Wednesday, during his reception for a group of visitors from Bolikhamxay Province in Lao, Da Nang People’s Council (PCl) Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung highlighted the vital role of PCls at all levels in ensuring the effective implementation of local socio-economic development policies.  He also spoke highly of the importance of the PCls over recent years in promoting solidarity and consensus amongst people from all walks of life.

The leader of the Lao delegation, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Mr Souvanny Saysana, affirmed “The Lao Party, government and people always highly appreciate the great, timely, and effective support from the authorities and people of Da Nang, and from Viet Nam as a whole”.

He hoped that mutual information exchanges about the performance of PCls at all-levels would be enhanced, whilst bilateral cooperation in various aspects would be promoted.

Over past years, many groups of Da Nang leaders have visited Laos to give financial aid in various cooperative initiatives. 

To date, the city has entered into a total of 30 Memorandums of Understanding with such Laotian localities as Vientiane, Savannakhet, Champasak and Sekong.  The focus has been on promoting exchange activities, fostering cooperative relationships, and boosting the development of agriculture, healthcare, education, and socio-cultural activities in the Laotian localities.
