During his reception on Wednesday for the Deputy Mayor of Monbetsu City in Japan, Mr Tanahashi Kazunao, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien affirmed that Da Nang and Monbetsu have great advantages and potential for the development of their local tourism sectors.

Vice Chairman Mien highlighted the significance of fostering bilateral tourism cooperation in opening up more cooperative opportunities between the two localities in the near future.

Mr Mien suggested that the focus should be on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture, fisheries and training government officials, as well as in boosting the export of labour from Da Nang  to Monbetsu City.  He also asked the Monbetsu leaders to encourage more Japanese businesses to invest into the Da Nang Hi-tech Park.  He vowed that the local authorities would create very favourable conditions for them to invest and operate effectively in the city.

In reply, Deputy Mayor Kazunao thanked Vice Chairman Mien for his warm welcome.  He affirmed that his city and Da Nang shared many similarities in their economic development strategies, with a focus on boosting the development of tourism and hi-tech industries.  He also remarked that his city would continue its efforts to train human resources in various aspects.
