Vice Chairman Mien briefed his guest on his city’s preparations for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW) which will take place in Da Nang in November. He also introduced her to the on-going Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2017 and 6th annual Asia Golf Tourism Convention in the city.
He also asked the US diplomat to do her utmost to appeal for more citizens from her country to visit Da Nang in the coming time, and to strengthen the bilateral cooperation relations with the city in such aspects as investment, trade, tourism, education, and humanitarian aid.
In reply, the US Consul General thanked the local leaders for facilitating her government to organise the Pacific Partnership 2017 in the city, as well as for cooperating well with US relevant agencies to implement the 1st and 2nd phases of the project to remove dioxin contamination at Da Nang International Airport.
Ms Tarnowka noted “Between 1,500 and 1,800 US delegates will arrive in Da Nang to attend the forthcoming AELW. This will be a great opportunity for Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, to advertise its beautiful images to US businesses and visitors.”
She also said she would persuade director Jordan Vogt-Roberts of the ‘Kong: Skull Island’ movie to make films in Da Nang to advertise the city’s beautiful landscape and people to international friends.
