During their visit, the city leaders encouraged the soldiers to continue their efforts to fulfil their assigned tasks in protecting the nation’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.  They affirmed that Vietnamese people will always stand side by side with the Truong Sa soldiers.

On behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary Tri presented the officers and men with a freezer, a package of vegetable seeds, a tofu making machine, and 5 cartons of necessary provisions.

Representatives from the Hoang Sa Island District People’s Committee, the Da Nang Police Department and municipal departments donated books and DVDs featuring Viet Nam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Da Nang delegation went to the Da Tay A and Da Tay B islands.

On behalf of Da Nang’s leaders, Deputy Secretary Tri presented the officers and men with 3 freezers, 3 packages of vegetable seeds, and 2 boxes of books and newspapers.  In addition, representatives from the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs’ Association gave 3 water purifiers, whilst those from the city’s Trade Union offered 10 cartons of necessary provisions.

Previously, on 22 May, the visitors from the mainland had visited residents living on the Truong Sa archipelago.

Mr Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the PaC of city-based national government agencies, highly praised the outstanding achievements recorded by the officers and men, and the residents, living on the Truong Sa islands.  He also asked them to make even more efforts to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.

On the occasion, Deputy Secretary Tri gave 10 billion VND from the city budget as a ‘Fund for Beloved Truong Sa’, and a pair of stone flower vases worth 120 million VND to the Truong Sa officers and men.

Before visiting the Truong Sa islands, the group had already visited Brigade 146 at Da Lat Island.  Deputy Secretary Tri presented this island’s officers and men with 12 million VND from the city budget.
