Da Nang bidding to host ITI World Congress 2018
During his reception on Wednesday for International Theatre Institute (ITI) General Secretary Ali Mahdi, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman cum Head of the Department of Publicity and Training Dang Viet Dung thanked his guest for visiting the city at the start of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF).

Vice Chairman Dung expressed his deep gratitude to his guest for supporting Da Nang’s bid to be chosen as the host venue for the ITI World Congress 2018.
He remarked, “The city is focusing on promoting the development of local tourism services through the organisation of international-scale cultural events and festivals. Over recent years, numerous large international events have successfully taken place in the city, including the on-going DIFF, the 5th Asian Beach Games, and the 2015 - 2016 Clipper Round the World Race. I would like the ITI to choose Da Nang as the host city for the ITI World Congress 2018”.
In reply, General Secretary Ali Mahdi affirmed that Da Nang is an ideal place for hosting international cultural and arts events thanks to its modern infrastructure, rich culture, and hospitable people. He pledged to give the city’s application his full support.
The ITI World Congress 2018 is expected to be attended by around 1,000 people, including UNESCO and ITI representatives, along with arts ambassadors, experts, and artistes from around the world.
