Australian navy ship HMAS Ballarat visits Da Nang
The Australian Navy warship, HMAS Ballarat, docked at the Tien Sa Port on 4 June, beginning a 5-day goodwill visit to Da Nang.

During their stay from 4-8 June, the ship’s Commander and crew members are scheduled to meet pay a coutersy visit to the High Command of Military Zone 5, the High Command of Navy Region 3, and the leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee.
They will participate in sport activities with officers and men from the High Command of Navy Region 3, and have sightseeing tours in Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue.
The guided missile frigate HMAS Ballarat with 166 officers and sailors on board is commanded by Commander David Landon, CSM, Royal Australian Navy (RAN). HMAS Ballarat is an ANZAC Class guided missile frigate with roles including air defence, anti-submarine and surface warfare, surveillance, interdiction and reconnaissance.
HMAS Ballarat is the 23rd Royal Australian Navy (RAN) warship making a goodwill visit to Viet Nam since bilateral defence relations were established.
