Addressing the reception, PM Phuc appreciated the proposal of the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association (VJA) to form the delegation of press agencies and enterprises accompanying the 2017 APEC.

On the occasion of 92nd anniversary of Viet Nam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – 2017), PM extended his greetings to the press agencies around the country as well as praised the strong development and great contributions of the press and enterprises to the country’s Doi Moi (renewal) process and socio-economic development.

He affirmed that the Party and State always attach importance to the role of the press and provide favourable conditions for them to fulfill their missions.

He asked press agencies and enterprises to actively participate in working for local interests and group interests, while fighting corruption as well as law and ethical violations.

The press should become a bridge connecting enterprises with the Government as well as help enterprises to recognise and overcome their deficiencies and weaknesses to develop.

The press needs to pay much attention to communicating the Government’s activities to improve the business and investment environment in Viet Nam as well as creating favourable conditions for people and enterprises, added PM Phuc.

The Government leader emphasised the necessity of building more famous Vietnamese brands, encouraging starts-up and the development of enterprises as well as promoting social welfare.

The PM urged the press to enhance the communication for local enterprises’ sustainable development, successful competition and integration, significantly contributing to supporting the Government to operate more transparently and effectively.

At the meeting, VJA Chairman Thuan Huu, who is also Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, gave his thanks to the PM for his attention given to the press and enterprises.

He noted that for the press, APEC would be a great opportunity to promote the image of Viet Nam to international friends as well as connect domestic enterprises with their partners in the region and the world.
