Boosting bilateral cooperation with Mozambique
During his reception on Tuesday for Mozambican Ambassador to Viet Nam Gamiliel Munguambe, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked that Da Nang has been focusing on promoting the development of external economic activities, and hi-tech and logistics industries. In addition, special attention has been paid to diversifying tourism services, with a focus on developing tours to popular tourist destinations in Da Nang, Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City and Thua Thien Hue Province.

The host noted that the bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and Mozambique’s localities, and other African countries as a whole, is still modest. He, therefore, said he would like the Mozambican diplomat to do his utmost to boost the bilateral cooperative programmes and cultural exchange activities with Da Nang in the near future.
Chairman Tho affirmed that the local authorities are willing to issue more preferential policies for both domestic and foreign investors to the city.
In reply, the guest thanked the city leader for his warm welcome, saying that he was very impressed with the city’s remarkable socio-economic achievements over recent years.
He added that Da Nang and his country’s Matola City shared many similarities in natural conditions, population size, and seaport and industrial zone development. He vowed to make even greater efforts to assist Da Nang to establish bilateral cooperative relations with Matola in aspects in which both localities take a keen interest. He believed that the bilateral cooperative relationships with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, would be further strengthened in the years ahead.
