Vice Chairman Minh remarked that his city is now appealing for investment from both home and abroad to implement the East-West Economic Corridor No 2 (EWEC2) project which will connect Da Nang with Salavan Province and other southern Laotian localities.  This, therefore, will help to attract more Laotian visitors to take road trips to the city.

By the end of this month, a group of representatives from the city authorities will have made a field trip along the EWEC to conduct their survey activities.

The host took the opportunity to invite the Salavan leaders to attend March’s seminar in the city on the development of EWEC2.

In particular, the city leader also underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral friendship and solidarity with this Laotian locality, with a focus on carrying out cooperation projects in line with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in October 2016.

In rely, Deputy Governor Buathory Khounyotpanya affirmed that the Party, government and people of Salavan would continue to consolidate the relationships and comprehensive cooperation with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, in the years ahead.

Also at his meeting with the city leader, on behalf of the Party, government and people of Salavan Province, Deputy Governor Buathory Khounyotpanya donated 12,000 US$ from the province budget to the city.

The donated money will go to help local victims who have been affected by devastating floods, caused by last year’s 12th typhoon which swept through Central Viet Nam.

On behalf of the city leaders, the recipient of the donated amount, Vice Chairman Minh, sincerely thanked the Laotian locality for its financial aid for his city.
