During his meeting with Da Nang People's Committee (PC) Chairman Huynh Duc Tho on Monday, General Director of Japan’s Mikazuki joint stock company, Mr Yoshimune Odaka, requested the permission from the city authorities to expand the area of the existing Xuan Thieu Tourist Area in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Nam Ward by about 50,000m².

Late last year, approval was given by the local government for this Japanese firm to pour about 110 million US$ into the existing Xuan Thieu Tourist Area.  Covering an estimated area of 11.5ha, the Japanese-invested project is expected to feature a service complex which comprises a 5-star hotel, water and amusement parks, a food court and other auxiliary facilities.

At the reception for his Japanese guests, Chairman Tho said that Mikazuki’s proposal would be taken into consideration by local authorities.

Mr Tho also asked for help from Mikazuki company to appeal even more Japanese businesses to invest into the locality.
