City leaders extend Tet greetings on Lunar New Year's Eve
On Thursday evening, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri visited and extended Tet wishes to sanitation workers from the city’s Urban Environment Company. They were on duty at a spring flower market at the 23 March Square in front of the 2 September Peace Monument.

The city leader was accompanied by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and some representatives from relevant local agencies.
Deputy Secretary Tri highly appreciated the great efforts made by the local sanitation workers in ensuring the city’s clean environment.
The city leader also urged the sanitation workers to clean up many local streets, especially entertainment and relaxation areas, during Tet in a bid to facilitate both local residents and visitors to enjoy the joyful and boisterous atmosphere on this special occasion.
During his visit to the city’s General Hospital, Deputy Secretary Tri expressed his belief that the hospital’s medical staff would continue their efforts to enhance the quality of its health care services, and uphold their sense of responsibility and devotion to their patients in the coming time.
In particular, greater efforts should be made to continue treating patients during the ongoing festival.
Encouragingly, a total of over 200 medical workers from the hospital, including qualified doctors and nurses, were assigned to be on duty on Lunar New Year's Eve.

Over 750 in-patients in total are currently being treated at this hospital, and they might celebrate Tet away from their homes.

Also on Thursday evening, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho paid a visit to the city’s Red Cross Association’s Centre for Caring for Orphans.
Currently, a total of 23 abandoned children are being cared for at the centre, 7 of whom are suffering from serious diseases.
Apart from Tet gifts to caregivers and children there, the city leader also presented 50 million VND from the city budget to this centre.
Chairman Tho also extended his Tet wishes to the staff of the Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning of the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

He underlined a must-do for the hospital to continue developing cutting-edge techniques to offer better medical services for people from the whole central region.
Tet greetings were also given by Chairman Tho to officers and men from the city’s Military Headquarters who were on duty at fireworks shows welcoming in the Lunar New Year on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and traffic police officers in charge of ensuring traffic safety at the intersection of 2 September and Duy Tan streets.

In a similar vein, Vice Chairman Tuan visited and extended Tet greetings to employees from the Son Tra Wastewater Treatment Plant. He asked the plant to maintain its smooth and effective operation in order to enhance the quality of the local environmental treatment.

During his visit to sanitation workers from the Son Tra District’s urban environment unit, Vice Chairman Tuan wished all of them good health, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead.
The deputy head of the municipal government highly applauded these sanitation workers for enthusiastically cleaning up every corner of the district.
Likewise, Vice Chairman Tuan also extended his best Tet wishes to the staff of the city’s Power Company.

In particular, he underlined the need for the company to ensure sufficient and stable electricity supplies to the general public during Tet, and deal with any unexpected power failures in a timely fashion.
