The commune/ward-level authorities are strictly implementing a trial programme under which their representatives visit the funeral ceremonies for the deceased in their locations, and help their families implement procedures for the granting of death certificates.
In detail, these public servants pay visits to bereaved families and pass sympathy messages to them, as well as encourage them to overcome their emotional trauma and continue with their lives.
Furthermore, local government employees are in charge of handling administrative procedures for the families of the deceased right at their homes in an effort to shorten the time to provide certified death certificates for deaths.
Mr Le Thanh Tuan from Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward said his family felt deeply upset and saddened about the unexpected passing of his mother on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month.
Encouragingly, Tuan’s family members could not hide their emotions as they welcomed the leaders of the ward authorities into their home for the extension of condolences.
The guests also enthusiastically instructed Mr Tuan about how to complete the necessary administrative procedures to obtain a death certificate for his late mother.
Another local meaningful policy that reflects the local government’s sincere care for the community is that, starting in early October 2016, birth certificates, health insurance cards and residence papers for newborn babies in the city have been delivered directly to their homes.
In addition, representatives from the city authorities presented flowers to local couples and single-mothers on the arrival of their new family members.
Highly lauded by the general public, the service is applied for newborn babies whose births are registered by their relatives within 60 days, in accordance with Viet Nam’s laws on civil status.
Under the country’s previous regulations, the relatives of newborn babies were required to receive the birth certificates from the headquarters of the district or ward-level People’s Committees.
Over the past year, birth certificates, health insurance cards and residence papers for a total of over 8,705 newborn babies were delivered directly to their homes.
The above-mentioned meaningful services aim to help local residents save time and travel expenses, as well as demonstrates a friendly local government which operates for the benefit of citizens.
Such practical services demonstrate the great efforts made by the city authorities to accelerate local administrative reforms more effectively, thereby creating a deeper connection between the local authorities and local citizens.
