During his reception on Wednesday for Norwegian Ambassador to Viet Nam Siren Gjerme Eriksen, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked that his city is giving its top priority to promoting the development of external economic activities, tourism services, IT, and hi-tech industry.  He said importance is also being attached to perfecting the urban infrastructure and ensuring effective training activities for high-quality human resources.

The host said that the potentials for bilateral cooperation between Da Nang with Norwegian localities and their businesses are yet to be fully tapped.  He, therefore, asked for assistance from the Norwegian diplomat to promote bilateral cooperation in aspects in which both sides take a keen interest.  He said the focus would be on fostering economic development, and organising more bilateral cultural exchange programmes to increase mutual understanding between the people of Da Nang and Norway.

Norwegian Ambassador Eriksen noted that both Da Nang and Norway boast great advantages and potential for developing IT.  She vowed to exert greater efforts to strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Norwegian localities in the near future.
