UN Women willing to help city to stop violence against girls & women
During his reception on Wednesday for Ms. Elisa Fernandez, UN Women Head of Office in Viet Nam, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh spoke highly of his guest and her organisation as a whole, in providing active assistance for his city over recent years.

Vice Chairman Minh, remarked ‘In the coming time, the focus will be on continuing the prevention of violence against girls and women. In addition, importance will be attached to facilitating the municipal Women Union to implement meaningful activities to raise public awareness about violence prevention. The intention is to reduce the number of violence cases in the city, and to make the city a safe and equal locality’.
The host also asked for help from UN Women to continue providing Da Nang with specialised knowledge, necessary technical facilities, and financial aid to help the city ensure the efficiency of violence prevention.
Ms Fernandez pledged to continue providing even more assistance for Da Nang to stop violence against girls and women. She added she would like the city government to facilitate the implementation of UN Women-launched programmes in the city in the years ahead.
